Taking Charge and Going Green
SkyHorse Ranch of Valley Ford, CA a leadership and personal development training program recently joined the Green Business Bureau on its way to becoming green business certified.
March 28, 2011 HOUSTON – SkyHorse Ranch, a unique equine-based leadership and personal development program located in Valley Ford, CA, educates its clients on how to become more sustainable in their personal and professional endeavors. The facility has taken that viewpoint, and its existing green practices, to the next level by joining the Green Business Bureau (GBB) on the way to becoming green business certified.
“The SkyHorse program weaves together land-based wisdom, animal communication, environmental awareness and intuitive practices to support those leaders and individuals who want to create sustainable change in their lives and the lives of others,” says Ariana Strozzi, SkyHorse’s President.
With the idea of sustainability at the core of its training philosophy, it’s little surprise that the facility already incorporates multiple green practices. SkyHorse practices recycling; purchases recycled paper and bathroom products; and cleans with earth-friendly cleaners. The dining facilities offer reusable utensils, mugs, cups and plates – eliminating any trash from disposable serving ware. There are no plastic bottles or soda cans. And, guest cabins have been installed with solar energy and grey water systems as well.
“Our barn, where we do most of our work with clients has no electricity and no need for it,” says Strozzi. “So when the day turns to dusk, it’s time to go home.”
Strozzi says it is precisely this commitment to sustainability that led SkyHorse to join the GBB.
“We are deeply concerned about the current unsustainable levels of consumerism and consumption,” says Strozzi. “We decided to join the GBB because we are committed to educating people on sustainability both in their personal and professional lives.”
Strozzi says that, moving forward, SkyHorse is looking forward to teaching other people how to do more environmentally friendly practices including recycling, less use of electricity, purchasing earth friendly products and to take on specific environmentally green practices that they can incorporate in their personal and professional lives.
“We believe that by re-connecting people to land and nature, they will find that courage to take a stand for the earth and change their practices of consumption,” says Strozzi.
